Chief Financial Officer

The Company. Twisted Throttle® is an established company with a healthy growth record and a dynamic management team. Located in Exeter, Rhode Island, Twisted Throttle was founded at the cusp of the now-exploding adventure motorcycling craze and is currently positioned as one of the major players in the market. We provide premium bolt-on motorcycle accessories for the adventure, sport-touring, and sport bike markets, primarily serving European and Japanese motorcycle riders. As exclusive North American distributor for leading powersports and ADV brands (including SW-Motech, R&G and others), we also specialize in prototyping, product development, wholesale distribution, and Internet retail sales for the full line of Twisted Throttle’s house of brands.

The Position. The Chief Financial Officer position is a new addition to the management team, with the goal of providing strategic support to manage the company’s rapid growth. This role is key in the development, tracking, and analysis of strategic initiatives, as well as providing operational guidance for the growing infrastructure. The CFO will be accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, including: development of financial and operational strategy; identifying and tracking performance metrics tied to that strategy; and ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets, optimize growth and report accurate financial results.

Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Contribute financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction
  • Forecast capital, facilities, and staff requirements
  • Develop financial and tax strategies, including debt and equity financing
  • Provide insights and advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Manage capital request and budgeting processes
  • Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
  • Plan and implement company-wide ERP upgrade and migration within first year

Financial Information

  • Ensure full transparency over the financial performance of the company
  • Report financial results to the CEO and management team
  • Monitor cash balances and create cash forecasts
  • Review and approve all government-required financial data


  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
  • Monitor and direct implementation of strategic business plans and company financial strategy
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations; manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems
  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Implement operational best practices
  • Oversee HR functions and employee benefit plans; maximize cost-effective benefits package
  • Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions
  • Maintain billings and payments speed and accuracy
  • Solve problems
  • Supervise: Accounting team, Human Resources Manager, and facilities management.

Desired Qualifications: The candidate CFO should have a degree in accounting or business administration supported by 10+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience for a small to medium-size company (or division of a larger corporation). Demonstrated strength partnering with an executive team and a high level of written and oral communication skills also required. Candidates with an MBA and/or Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations preferred. Must be comfortable with managing relational database, including querying, collating, analyzing IT and purchasing data involving Access, MS SQL, Excel. ERP migration management (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) experience also required. Practical experience in role of controller and experience where broad lines of inventory are acquired and managed from international suppliers also desirable.
